SCS CAS473 - Oh, Happy Day!

Today's design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps was created for the Clean and Simple Challenge posted on Splitcoaststampers today. It is titled "Oh, Happy Day" and participants are asked to show something that makes them happy.

Well, here in Texas we are all delighted to once again find the rolling hills of central Texas blanketed with our state flower, the bluebonnet.  We are happy, indeed. It is a true sight to behold that we look forward to every spring.

CCEE1811 - St. Patrick's Day/Green

Wow, we're three weeks into March already.....and St. Patrick's Day is on the horizon.  This week, our CCEE hostess, Vicky, asked that we make a St. Patrick's Day card.....or.....use the color green on our card!  Not all of us can use a St. Patrick's Day card, but green is a wonderful color with endless possibilities!

Green is my favorite color, so of course, I went with that!! The butterfly image and stenciled background are from Dina Wakley Media for Ranger.

KSS - Let's Make an Easter Scene

Kitchen Sink Stamps is sponsoring another Let's Make a Scene design today and the theme is Easter. It seems like we are barely out of winter and now Easter is right upon us! I think this is the longest winter we have had in Texas in many a year. We are all anxiously looking forward to the colors of spring!

For today's card I used images from Kitchen Sink Stamps' 3 Step Honey Bunny, Multi Step Baskets, Multi Step Bitty Tulip Bouquet, and Ready 4 Any Holiday. The eggs and bow are die cut from assorted designer paper scraps.

This is the order in which I stamped the images:

1st - rabbit
2nd - basket
3rd - tulips
4th - grass
Last -sentiment

Color Recipe for Rabbit

3 - Memento London Fog
2 - SU Going Grey
1 - PTI Soft Stone
4 - Memento Tuxedo Black

2 - SU Creamy Caramel

CCEE 1810 - Die Cut Words

Hi, and welcome to the second challenge for March.  Vicky, our CCEE Challenge hostess for this month, has us playing around with techniques using Die Cut Words.

I cut my birthday wishes die by Spellbinders twice and used the black sentiment behind the blue one as a shadow. The designer paper is from Ahoy There by Alisha Gordon and Kasie Fry for Carta Bella. I think this will made a great masculine birthday design for one of my nautical friends.

Lots of interesting techniques used by the CCEE Design Team member for their word cut dies.

Will Spring Return to Texas? - KSS

Will spring return to Texas? I sure hope so! I can feel it in the air.

For today's card sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps, I have given you a glimpse of what a Texas spring looks like. Soon the hillsides and roadways will be lined with beautiful Texas wildflowers which include the gorgeous state flower, the bluebonnet.

I stamped the truck and tree on two different panels and cut one down to use as a popped up spotlight over the other.

For this card I included images from:

Multi Step Bicycle (sentiment)

CCEE 1808 - Polar Bear Day

CCEE hostess, Kelly McKown-Santi has a fun challenge for the CCEE Stampers for the final one in February.

She says that Tuesday (2/27) is Polar Bear Day
and asked that we create a card with a polar bear(s), snow,
or use white as your card’s focal color.

I have no polar bears in my collection except the adorable Angel's Landing digitals that are locked away in my old crashed computer never to be retreived.

So from me, it's snow for my last winter masculine birthday! All the images on this card are from Kitchen Sink Stamps.

Happy Birthday, Margaret!

I used Splitcoaststampers' Sketch Challenge 685 today to create a fun birthday card for my friend, Margaret who will be ** on Friday! Happy Birthday, girlfriend!!

The image is from Art Impressions and the Eat More Cake sentiment is by Stampabilities. The designer paper comes from Everyday Flair by My Mind's Eye.

Stained Glass Background

Splitcoaststampers had an interesting technique challenge posted today, so I decided to use it to create this week's card sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps. I used the small flower image from Multi Step Carnations and a get well sentiment from Kitchen Sink Stamps on this get well card for a friend.

After drawing the stained glass lines with a pencil, I painted them with Distress Oxide Inks mixed with water. I then sprinkled the entire surface with water droplets and used my heat gun to oxidize the ink. The last step for the background was to redraw the lines with a Sharpie. I then matted my stamped KSS carnation image with black and attached it to the card.

Be sure to stop by Maria's blog and see her fun going green design!

CCEE1807 - Tic Tac Toe

Hi, fellow CCEE Stampers! Kelly is again our CCEE hostess this week
and has issued
a fun Tic Tac Toe challenge.

We are to choose a row across, up and down, or diagonally
to complete our design for this week!

I have used the bottom row which includes sequins, a doily, and enamel dots!

The image is from Jane Girl and the sentiment is from She Never Says Never
both of which are from The Unity Company.

I hope you will join us in this fun challenge and post your card on the
CCEE Stampers' Blog!
